# DF2 Division of Fractions (Mixed Fractions)

In DF1, we have learned how to divide proper and improper fractions. In this post, we learn how to divide mixed fractions.

Just like in multiplying fractions, to divide mixed fractions, we need to convert mixed fractions to improper fractions first. To learn about this, watch the video above and then answer the Practice Exercises below.

Practice Exercises

1.) $3 \frac{1}{2} \div \frac{1}{4}$

2.) $6 \div 1 \frac{1}{3}$

3.) $5 \frac{3}{8} \div 4$

4.) $8 \frac{3}{4} \div 2 \frac{1}{3}$

5.) $9 \frac{1}{2} \div \frac{19}{3}$

Answers to Practice Exercises

1.) $14$

2.) $4 \frac{1}{2}$

3.) $\frac{43}{32}$ or $1 \frac{11}{32}$

4.) $\frac{15}{4}$ or $3 \frac{3}{4}$
